Hello world, I am a recent college graduate currently trying to find my place in the world.
I graduated from University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast/Print/Web Journalism. I know, it’s a difficult field to get into and I learned that very quickly as I started applying for jobs.
I must have applied for over 50 jobs and I’m either getting a lot of rejection emails or not hearing back from the jobs at all. That is really starting to frustrate me.
As I continue to sit in my house all day, waiting to hear about possible job interviews with the little hope I have left, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about my future.
As I was in college, I had the hopes of becoming a TV news anchor, but since I didn’t do many internships while attending school, I realized I had to change those goals.
When I was not hearing anything from TV and Journalism jobs, I thought I would apply for public relations and social media positions.
Now that I have a new goal of working in social media, I can finally have some direction. But, I’m still not hearing back from those companies.
This is what I was most afraid of as I was graduating college, but it has given me time to think about my future, and honestly I’m terrified of what will happen next for me.
